Goward House

Art and poetry are part of my family legacy.

I have maintained an art studio since 2002 and have collaborated with world artists from China, France and Turkey.  I studied collage in Aix-en -Provence.  I have held many shows in California and Mexico. My art show in Istanbul in a Byzantine cistern in 2014 was exciting!

My paintings pay homage to women; I see them as queens, honor them with crowns. Orphan jewelry and found objects gathered by friends and family add a sense of collaboration and communication to mixed media technique.

The Retablos are a personal version of an ancient altar.

I have published and recited poetry extensively and have served on the California State Poetry Society Board since 1999. My collection of art and poetry, Color Recuerdo, was published in 2024.

I frequently incorporate lines of my poems or poetic phrases in Retablos and paintings.  Inspiration comes; words and art flow.
