Goward House

Our Mission

To provide a vibrant activity center combining fellowship with social, educational and special interest programs for Greater Victoria residents aged 50 and over.

Governance

We are a not-for-profit society governed by a board of directors drawn entirely from our members. Our Annual General Meeting is held in May.

A Brief History

Goward House was originally the home of the Goward family.  For much of the 20th century, 2 generations of Gowards resided here. In 1973 the Gowards sold the property to the District of Saanich, In 1986 Elizabeth Goward vacated the house and in 1989, the District of Saanich converted the home to a Senior’s Activity Centre. Goward House celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2016.
